Overview: The Nakagin Capsule Tower, a distinctive blend of residential and office spaces, stands as a testament to the Japanese Metabolism movement, symbolizing Japan's cultural resurgence in the postwar era. Comprising two interconnected concrete towers of eleven and thirteen floors, the structure accommodated 140 self-contained prefabricated capsules, each measuring 2.5 m by 4.0 m. These capsules served as compact living or office spaces. Despite efforts to preserve the iconic building through various campaigns, the decision to demolish was announced in March 2022, and disassembly commenced in April 2022.

(Disclaimer: Designed with a raw, artistic erosion for a deliberately rough appearance as part of the Architectural Series.)
